What should my friend and I fish for if we just want to catch anything?

We fish from her dock on a large, central florida lake, and a lot of the water around her dock that we can cast to is only 2-4 feet. So far, we're catching bass, bream and 1 catfish, with minnows, worms or shiners. We release everything and just want to catch as many as possible, for fun. How should we set up our lines, (we use sinker floats, but how far above the hook?) and what size hook is best for the widest variety of fish? Thanks for any advice.

1. You can always try Wheatie balls (take some Wheaties and get them wet to form balls), whole kernal corn, chicken liver, nightcrawlers. You can try the smaller hooks. You can go to Walmart and get a pack of multi sized hooks for a $1. Bobbers are good, depends on the depth of the water as to how are up you put it.

2. i would say go for a small hook baited with worm bout 1-3 feet deep with small lead shot weight on the line 6-8 inches above the hook this should allow you to catch small bass and lots of bluegill

3. I'd say if you're catching that variety you're probably doing the right things... you might catch more bluegill if you switch from minnows to worms or crickets... use a small brass hook... no bigger than an inch (I don't know hook #'s) put a spit shot weight about 3 inches above the hook and then a bobber about 2 feet above that... good luck

4. cat fish, a number 2 hook and depending on whether you catch snags or not use a bobber maybe a foot up from the hook. small hooks for regular fish

5. you guys should snapper

6. sound like you are doing fine
