1. Get yourself a crankbait or some topwater Loures for when it warms up.

2. ok. Go to Wal-Mart.
Buy a pack of slurpies panfish tubes, i used the perch pattern.
Put them on the hook they came with but make sure that the hook is completely inside the tube.
A little further up the line, 10 inches to a foot, Put a small split shot on.
above that should be a sliding bobber, forgot to mention that... that should be the first thing on the line.
pull it towards you with a swift jerk, wait until you feel the bait go back down, then reel it in a little bit and repeat, with the sliding bobber you can jig it up and down in place without pulling line in in case the bass are slow.

I've only used this once and it was in late spring, deep water, and i caught two 21 + inch smallies in about an hour before i had to go home. hope this helps.

3. these guys have good techniques, and your gonna catch smallmouth make sure you are where smallies are like by timber or food source etc you can try spinners as well good luck and have fun

4. alright go to walmart and buy some night crawlers for 4.99 a box or if you want a better chance buy a minnow trap for about 12.00 ( price depends on how big and structure ) put some kind of food and put it in the trap and put in water for about 3 hours or all night and put the hook in its back and live line it or freeze them unthaw them slice them up put them on a hook and have fun
