How big will a Smallmouth bass get?

Public Comments

1. That is dependent on it's environment, diet, water quality, etc..

I assume you are referring to one kept in an aquarium. Depending on the conditions the fish can very likely reach over 16in and possibly more.

They do have a voracious appetite and are not cheap to keep long term. I have raised many different native fish in aquariums, they're great, but different than keeping your typical aquarium fish.

I could go on all day but I'll try and stick to the question asked.

2. It all depends..... Usually about the size of a crappie so about a 20-30 gallon tank would be nice for them (usually about maybe 7-10 inches)
