I've been fishing for smallmouth bass in north Idaho and they keep moving, how did i tell where they go?

Somedays ill catch like 5 really big ones and others i will catch 3 small ones in the same place and time? If any one fishes in Lake Pend Oreille please help me.

Small mouth like current. If you can find streams that dump into the lake or of course rivers then you will find them.
