Any suggestions for catching Freshwater Bass in the summer? Either buying certain lures (colors, size, etc.), specific kinds of bait or recipes for homemade bait.

1. The best lure for largemouth bass fishing is the Strike king Red eye shad just type that on google and u will find links it catches me 5 bass in a day that i cant catch one with any other lure. Also ive had luck with spinnerbaits..... Inline spinners work better for me buy any kind of spinnerbait will work. Also u can never go wrong with solf plastics.... i prefer Zoom worms, lizards, and flukes.
These lures catch me my best bass also any topwater lure does really well
ps. if this doesnt work like 1,000000000000000 ppl have already asked this question so just look at other questions
2. !!! i have seen this question a million times... and heres my answer for the millionth time!!
THERE ARE NO "BEST" LURES!!! now yes some work better than others but honestly to be able to catch bass year around you need an assortment of lures in different colors.
to start out with go out and buy a few packages of rubber tube jigs size dont matter for the most part just bigger lures means bigger fish because the smaller ones either cant eat it or are afraid too so get lets say 6 packages of tube jigs get 3 dark colors and 3 brighter colors.
pick up a rapala if you feel it will help but for now start with rubber jigs and jerk baits.
get a top water lure or a popper and fish it near a half submerged structure or the bank as it will look like what ever it is has fallen into the water.
also try these gulp alive minnows in the gulp scent mixtures they seem to work quite well.
3. 1.) berkly powerbait 6" plastic worms are beast for catchin bass!! they are also very easy to fish em, just cast out let it sink then twitch it all the way in. this is a link on how to rig a plastic worm, texas rig is first. then there will be the wacky worm style i caught two bass on that rig tonight and two today on the texas rig as well.... :

3.) when catchin largemouths in the summer on hot days, fish around cover such as lilly pads, ribbon weed, rocks, or even fallen trees in the water. i like to fish powerbait texas rigged througout the heaviest cover wherever im at, since bass are ambush predators they will hide right along the cover and wait for an easy meal to pass and he will ambush it from behind. about halfway through this video below it talks about bass habitat, and what lures to use and when.
