what temps are good for smallmouth bass fishing?
whats the air tempature is when i can start fishing? 50? 60? i no that 60 is good for spring largemouth but what about the 40's and 50's for small mouth?

1. Air temperature is important but water temperature is the deciding factor. Just because it's 60 degress for a couple days doesn't really mean much being that the water will still well below that. A few warm sunny days will get the fish moving a bit more possibly but not a whole lot. For fish to really start hitting well again the water will need to be up towards that 65-70 degree mark. After the water is at 70 and above fishing will be the best.
It's kind of hard to answer your question. If you fish small lakes and ponds yes, you can probably catch a fair share of fish after a few warm days with the sun out. If you're talking about normal lakes you can catch them but it will be slower than fishing in a smaller body of water. Ponds and small lakes warm much more quickly than a regular sized and depthed lake.
