Can I get a Florida residents fishing license?
I just moved to Florida from Georgia and I was wondering if I am now considered a resident of Florida? I saw something on the Florida website that said you have to wait six months, but that just doesn't make sense to me. How do I fish for 6 months?

1. You're not considered a resident until you have lived here for at least 6 months. You'll have to have your I.D./ drivers license changed stating you live here as well. The only real thing you can do is get a "tourists license" ( also known as a non resident license) until the 6 month waiting period ends. Good news though, saltwater license is free, just pay the surcharge...you do have a dollar on ya right?...oops, you're not a resident, my bad!. I'm messing with ya, don't get upset. I was in your shoes a while back ( 20 years ago) and I know it sucks to pay a higher price to go fishing. Think of it in a positive way, soon you'll be here teasing others and you'll be a local loco like the rest of us catching big fish with bigger fish stories. By the way, you can get on party/ head boats without any worries and fish 1/2- all day and not have a license. This is what I did once a month while waiting. ; ) ~Good luck catchin'
2. The key word be Resident, in other words you have to live there for that period of time and have proof of it before a' license will be issued. I've been doin' this fishin' thing for over 50 years + now and Florida along with the other 49 states regulations change so d _ _ n much, that along with their havin' ta' use 10 million words just to get a simple GD TWO+TWO = FOUR answer/understanding of em' is fffin' ridiculous. Fish on to ya' once you get their 6 month probation behind ya' ;)... <);-3
Note: Yes all, I got that off my chest and if apologies are in order ~ sorry bout' that;) ;)
