Best striped bass rig for shore fishing?

Im gonna be fishing for striped bass on the hudson river and i just wanted to know what you think is the best rig. I will be using bloodworms. Thanks~

1. So spawning season, so they're going to be big and heavy.

20 lb line on a 8 to 10 foot rod with a big honkin reel.

Bleeder hook with some split shot weights and bobber is what i would use.

4. Circle hook on 25# test line. Use a fish finder sliding weight holder with 4 ozs so you can get the bait out there. Long pole with at least 8-10ft. I would try bunker or clams for bait.

100lb mono leader 1-3inches
8/0 3x circle hook
swilel for your sinker

6. I would use about a 8 foot rod with a nice penn reel. The pen reels hold up very well and are good quality. For line I ould use 20 or 30lb braid and then about a three to four foot mono or flurocarbon leader at about 30 pund test. Also if you are there in the morning I ould try using a topwater lure I have caught some monster stripers on topwater lures!
