How much is the Florida fishing license?

And also do you need one to fish off a pier?

1. Yes in most states if you are over the age of 16 you will need one. Check with local conservation offices or bait shops may even sell them.

Some piers where you pay, they buy a permit to cover the people who fish from it, so you may not need a license. If you don't pay to fish from the pier and don't live in Fl., you most likely need a license

3. you need a license now to fish even from a pier. i'd suggest getting the $33 salt and freshwater license which would be good for a year. It's a misdemeanor if you don't have one. and make sure of the size of the fish if you're keeping it. If it's too small, throw it back in, even if it's dead. It's $500 per fish

Yes, if you aren't a resident and you're not paying to fish from the pier, you will need a license...

If you are a resident, a rule change went into effect on the first of this month, requiring you to have a license to fish from shore, pier, bridge, etc. (unless you're using a cane pole or handline or recieve food stamps, etc... I'm sure if you look around on that site, you'll find all the exemptions)

I'm not sure if the shore fishing license is applicable for nonresidents, but it is less expensive than the regular saltwater license, and if you don't plan on doing any boat fishing, it may be the way to go. (If you're not a resident, sorry, but it might not be available to you...)
