1. I guess this Q depends on WHERE you want to fish in the Gulf?
Inshore or Offshore?
Spring is always gonna be better than Winter for most fishing, Inshore.
The species that are most active Inshore during February would be Spec Trout, Sand Trout, Sheephead, Flounder and the occasional Redfish.
Snook & Tarpon usually go deep or swim to freshwater springs to escape the cold.
Offshore- Generally, reefs aren't as productive in the Winter, but you could hit on one and score big. Offshore can be hot and cold more than Inshore.
Hope this helps ya?
2. I would go in February.Less crowd and still warm enough to be comfortable, which is a big plus to me.Naples Florida has to be good year round, I would think and April is allot further away. The anticipation would kill me.
3. The weather is better in April and I believe the fishing is too. With the warming weather, the snapper bite is better. April is dry season, so generally, no storms. After Easter, the seasonal snowbirds tend to head back north, so it thins out a bit.
