Where is the best place in Denver Metro Area for Bass fishing?

I fish from the shore, I have an assortment of topwater and crankbait lures. I usually fish at a small pond next to my house, but have only caught 2 fish there. Im not only looking for bass (small and largemouth) but other warm species fish. Im sick of just catching rainbow trouts.

1. There are no places I know of in the Denver Metro Area to fish for warm water bass, but if you travel about 110 miles south to Pueblo reservoir you might find warm water bass. Travel another 100 miles east from Pueblo to John Martin Reservoir and you may have better luck. You may try fishing at Cherry Creek or Chatfield reservoirs in the Denver metro area.

2. I agree with the top answer.Denver lakes and ponds usually have trout, pike, and suckers. Down in Southern Colorado where I live we have them all and bass is included. Pueblo Reservoir, Vaco Ponds, Ruynon Pond, Trinidad Lake, and that lake the top answer mentioned which is located in La Junta. The southern part of the Arkanasas River also provided Bass fishing.
