Anybody know a good and inexpensive live shiner fishing guide for Lake Tarpon and/or other Central, FL lakes? I asked this question before and never got a definitive answer. I'm trying to decide to go down to Florida in late March-late May. What is the best time to get huge bass with live golden shiners? Also, I am planning definitely hiring a guide to fish Lake Tarpon but also hiring a guide to fish another lake like Okeechobee but I don't know what other lake is a hot spot RIGHT NOW. I think I heard that Okeechobee isn't that good because of the drought. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Help getting fishing guide service in destin? I am 15 years old and a freshman in high school. I am a very avid fisherman and love the sport. I have alot of knowledge from catching tarpon to kings to cobia. I have been vacationing a few times a year to destin, Florida for my whole life and that's where my heart lives. My dream is to move there and start a fishing guide bussiness inshore type fishing, such as tarpon, kings, bonito, cobia etc. I just need some knowledge as to what to study in college or high school, what is required to start a guide service in destin, and anything to help my dream come true. Where (website or store) can i get a good deep sea/lake fishing rod? So family trip to florida in 2 weeks, and my dad promised to take me tarpon fishing if i got the rods and everything and he'd get the guide. SO, where is a good place in COLORADO where i can get a nice sea fishing pole? i can't get one in florida because we're there for 4 days, and we only have 1 day to fish. so, a website or store please. Also, where can i get a good catfish or bass rod in CO? a website is good

Salwater fishing with 30LB test with Abu Garcia Cardinal 104i? I'm taking a trip to florida, and I'm doing a day of saltwater kayak fishing. Were fishing for snook, tarpon, and redfish. I was told by the guide to have a bite tippet of 30lb floro. Can i use my freshwater reel for this? If not, what would you recommend thats under 100 bucks? the gear ratio is 5:1:1, the spool capacity (braided) is 14 lbs (210 yds), and max drag is 14 lbs.

Florida fishing question.? Just got to Tampa. Wanted to spend allot of time fishing. On the way down here I was reading a little Kindle book called Florida Saltwater Fishing Beginners Guide. Lots of information there but after reading it I am interested in fishing for Tarpon in Tampa Bay. My question is are Tarpon present seasonally or are they in Tampa Bay year round?
