Florida Fishing Resort Knowledge Base
Any nice beaches in the upper Florida Keys? I will be going to Florida in October and would like to visit the upper Keys. So far my search for places to stay has turned up a lot of sport fishing resorts...I don't like to fish. Anyone know of a quiet resort, hotel or town thats not more then a two hour drive from Miami Airport? I would like to just relax, sit on a beach and swim in the ocean.
In regards to my deepsea fishing trip? Thanks for your answers on my previous question, I did look up the tropic star fishing resort and hope to go someday! But for now i think we are going to the Florida Keys, has anyone been there in late january? If so how was the fishing and what species were most active. I am hoping to catch sailfish, sharks, grouper and tarpon.
Recommended bait for fresh water fishing? Soon I am going fishing in Florida. It is in a freshwater canal near the Miccosukee resort, and I wanted to know which type of bait would be best. Artificial or live, and if live what kind of animal/insect/worm?
What is a good vacation resort on the east coast? My grandmother asked me to plan a vacation for her, my grandfather and I yesterday. She wants to go somewhere with a beach, and my grandfather wants to fish. They can't move around very well, so they want to go to a resort-type place where they can eat right there and be right on the water. It should also be nearby an airport. Any suggestions? I was thinking in somewhere in Florida or along the lower East Coast. Thanks for the help!
Any advice on Florida for vacation? I wanted to take my girlfriend on vacation to Naples Florida. She has family there that she would like to visit. I have never been to Florida, or on an actual vacation other than fishing in Wisconsin. I was thinking of trying to find an all inclusive resort, but not real sure what I should be looking for, or even if that is a good idea. Does anyone have any advice or suggestions?
Which Caribbean Resort would you recommend and why? We are looking to get away for some fun and relaxation sometime around the end of the year. Our budget is about $3000 and we're flying out of north florida. We have no kids. We love the beach. We only snorkel, and if at all possible we would like to access a house reef right off the resort beach. This is not a must, but we definitely want a nice clean and not too crowded beach. We would also like to do some fishing, maybe kayaking and hanging out by the pool with a view of the Caribbean. I've been looking and there are so many places to choose from. Thanks for your recommendations.

Florida Keys Cleanest Shore and Shallow water? When I was little I went here and remember being able to walk way out in the ocean only knee deep and colorful fish would be all around you. I don't know how to pick out the right place. I read that thier is grass and weeds on some of the comments from resorts. Anyone here know where to avoid or where to go if I want a clean beach vacation for a Couple with a 7 yr old boy?
Removing a fish hook? This is kind of strange. My wife and I are nudist and go on vacations at nudist resorts. We are in Florida right now near Disney at a nice resort. We were fishing yesteday evening on our boat and my wife reared back to make a long cast and buried her fish hook in my scrotum. We tried to remove the hook and it has gone in deeper. I do not want to go to the hospital because they will laugh at me. Is there a way to remove this hook from my Ba.lls? I know that I could never get a piercing there now by the way.
Natural Florida Vacation? I am not looking at going to theme parks or crowded popular beaches. Quiet Clean Vacation with white sand, aqua water seashells tropical fish. We like exploring but don't want to be by ourselves in the Everglades, not that extreme but just a quiet shoreside resort or cottage rental for a week. Is there such a place?
Where is the best beach for a family vacation? I am looking for the best beach for a family vacation. We have done the whole Florida thing so that is out! I want: clear water, soft (prefer white) beach, nice waters for swimming. Mostly we just want to lay on the beach for a week! Scenery is most important! We won't be doing any scuba diving, rock climbing or anything crazy. But maybe some deep sea fishing, whale watching, or something like that. I wouldn't mind staying at a resort but we want to keep it pretty reasonable.I have been searching and have come up with Maui, Kauai, Riviera Maya, Freeport or Puerto Rico. Let me know where you think would be best!!! BTW: if it helps we want to go in early May. Ok, I have also done Myrtle Beach. No offense but I really don't find it that relaxing of a beach. As for the beach itself, it isn't the prettiest, Pensecola beats Myrtle Beach hands down! Let's just skip the entire Southern Part of America as I have been there, done that. I want somewhere a little more exotic.
I have a castable fish finder and notice the bass are? Suspended between 2-4 in a pond that is 7 ft deep on average. I cannot bottom fish a texas rig if they are 2-4 ft up. I can resort to shiners but i only do that once in awhile as i like to improve on my techniques. tHis time of yr in florida they seem to have already spawned. THis time last year i was able to land alot of fish and a 6 lb avaerage is the norm i actually caught a 12pounder in the weed around the edge with a frog. The attack was ferocious and fun but there is no longer any weeds as they have added carp to keep down on the weeds. Any suggestions??
Okay, my skin is getting worse by the day? so i went to florida for 5 days at the end of march and i got back and my skin was a little messed up but not really. i thought i could get it back to normal. anyways i take fish oil pills twice a day and they were my skins savior, seriously they kept all my acne away but ever since i got back my skin is getting progressively worse and it's not responding to the fish oil pills anymore and i'm starting to resort to using benzoil peroxide, which i am allergic to. but i'm so desperate and honestly thinking about it makes me just want to cry. i thought i had something that worked, (it has been working for many months) and now it doesn't please please please help me. read the question before you answer, i already take fish pills. my skin is not responding to them...NOW WHAT?

Can anyone recommend or not recommend an all inclusive vacation to the us virgin islands? we are looking to "elope" with my best friend and his brother - only four people - NOT A DESTINATION WEDDING. we want an all inclusive i think... not exactly sure if its worth it. never been to all inclusive. but want to marry on beach - no passport required a must as we are looking to go in june. i want a beautiful hotel that is has great service - friendly more than fancy - because i think that makes such a difference. i would love to hear any bride or groom to give me any feedback good or bad - please help... - i find it hard to look for our unique situation and the resorts i was recommended to in st. thomas have horrible reviews. He loves to fish and golf - we are not looking for the cheapest deal necessarily but would love someone to tell me a place they loved and why - preferably in the us virgin islands. st thomas, st johns, st croix-- (also if you know of one in florida, or hawaii not ruling them out...) Help:)
Best Carribbean Honeymoons? Your Question best places in the carribbean to honeymoon? My FH and I are starting to talk about honeymoons. We'll be getting married in early September of NEXT year, so there's plenty of time to plan! There are a few things we know we want, somewhere as 'all inclusive' as possible, meaning more like a resort than a B&B, where we really don't HAVE to leave if we don't want to, but if we decide to explore there's something interesting to see outside the resort. Also should be somewhere where he can go fishing one day and I can go to a nice spa (in the resort preferably) but overall somewhere where we don't really have to think or worry about anything and just eat and drink and be 'merry'. We live in south Florida, so anywhere in the Carribbean is an option, we just don't travel much and are looking for suggestions =)

Looking for a change in destination but an equivalence in temperature.? I'm looking to go to a different place for two weeks for winter vacation. Usually my destination is south florida, so beach resorts ( usually 5 star ) and nice weather is usually what we go for as well as shopping and fishing. Is there any similar places in the states with all of the things that I would do in florida but just a different destination. Please let me know. Thanks!
Hotel Resort Underwater? A few months ago I remember looking at an AOL mainpage thing about cool water related places or something along those lines.. And I remember it showing an underwater hotel. Not so much the entire hotel, but just your room. It talked about how the people at the resort give you scuba lessons, and you have to swim 20 feet underwater to your room..with coral reefs, fish and everything. Sounded amazing and I didn't write the information down!! Does anyone know what I'm talking about? I could have sworn it said the place was in Florida, but I'm not entirely sure. Thanks for the help!
How long do the wait times get at Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios Florida in late June? I'm a Universal Orlando Resort Power Pass Annual Pass Holder. I usually tend to avoid going to Universal during the Summer season because of the tremendous amount of crowds, especially with Harry Potter at IOA. But this year, I have plans to go visit both IOA and USF in late June 2011 for a friend, before our Power Passes get blacked out at IOA until mid-August. Anyone know what waits I can expect at each ride/attraction?. I remember the last time I visited Universal in the busy Summer season was in July 2007 (before Harry Potter opened) and we had the following waits: Popeye - 60 Doctor Doom - 30 Cat in the Hat - 35 One Fish Two Fish - 15 Twister - 5 Earthquake (now replaced by Disaster!) - 5 Men in Black - 15 Revenge of the Mummy - 45 E.T. Adventure - 35 Fievel Playland Waterslide - 15 Woody Woodpecker - 10 Can someone help me out? ADDITION: I forgot to mention, we also waited 45 for Storm Force Accelatron.
