Bass Fishing Central Florida Knowledge Base

Fresh water fishing in Florida? Where is the party here in Florida? I want to go out and fish bass, carp, and catfish. What are some of the spots people fish in Central Florida? Thanks, But I dont eat fish so the bass, carp, or the cat fish dont have to be worry about being my dinner. I just do it for the fun factor and its relaxing. I like to fish carp and cat fish because they sometimes give a hell of a fight.
What size hook and swivel should we use to fish for either bream or bass in my freind's lake? We fish with minnows off her dock for fun and have caught both. Is it too late now, for bass? (Central Florida). We need to stock up on hooks and swivels - which is the best size for catching either one? We also catch and release so is there a hook that's good for that but doesn't also make us lose them before we land them? Sorry for so many questions, thanks for answering any!
What lures are BASS hitting on this time of year? ? I live in central florida and fish in local ponds and small lakes and have been using a super Fluke watermelon seed color. They have simply stopped hitting it. The water is still around the upper 60s duriing the day and weather has been really nice and warm. We did just have a cold front come thru but they stopped biting about a week ago. i fish morning afternoon and evening and mid day. with no results. What should i switch to. Thanks in advance for all answers. good luck BASSIN
What should my friend and I fish for if we just want to catch anything? We fish from her dock on a large, central florida lake, and a lot of the water around her dock that we can cast to is only 2-4 feet. So far, we're catching bass, bream and 1 catfish, with minnows, worms or shiners. We release everything and just want to catch as many as possible, for fun. How should we set up our lines, (we use sinker floats, but how far above the hook?) and what size hook is best for the widest variety of fish? Thanks for any advice.
Im 14 and im with the junior bassmasters, we have a tournament december 12th.? were in central florida, and going to be fishing East Lake Tohopekaliga. so im wondering what should I use to get that winning bass.
Anybody know a good and inexpensive live shiner fishing guide for Lake Tarpon and/or other Central, FL lakes? I asked this question before and never got a definitive answer. I'm trying to decide to go down to Florida in late March-late May. What is the best time to get huge bass with live golden shiners? Also, I am planning definitely hiring a guide to fish Lake Tarpon but also hiring a guide to fish another lake like Okeechobee but I don't know what other lake is a hot spot RIGHT NOW. I think I heard that Okeechobee isn't that good because of the drought. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
here is another question for the fisher people? Some times I can get big into bass fishing. I go threw fazes. for now im on hunting and pobably will be for a long long time. but I also love fishing. Im from Ft Lauderdale. We have a lot of canals and everglades. When fishing the local canals I had great luck with the super fluke, watermelon red. I didn't do to good in the everglades although I didn't go there much. However Im living in central Florida now and there are very large lakes. some are smaller. I had some luck with the super fluke but when I fish in larger waters I dont do very good. I also dont have a boat. there is one place that isn't really a lake but its still a larger body sort of area. A lot of people fish there so it may be over fished but I dont know. I only went there once. Any tips on what I should use.
i was fishin in a pond yesterday...? and i dont know if i caught three different fish, or one fish three different times, but i caught the darndest fish yesterday. i found out it was called a garr and it looked evil. short, narrow snout and bad temper. i was wonderin what happened to the other fish since the other day i caught a three pound bass in it. the pond has semi-murkisk water. its probably bout knee deep and the bottom half is covered with weeds. most of the ponds i live by are comin off sewers. most of the fish that is caught was brought from a lake and put in here. im in central florida, 30 miles south of orlando. all i had was my fishin pole and some keys. so the last time i caught one, i decided my finger being bitten wasnt worth the trouble to save my lure, so i cut the line and left the hook on him. i did feel bad though. i seem to notice that i do better in ponds and canals than on lake tahoe. p.s. i like to use crankers most of the time, and go about in the middle. i sometimes use a slight weight to drop the cranker a little, but often it goes cold, why is that?
What to do near Orlando, FL? I am visiting my sister at the University of Central Florida and I want to do some things while she is in class/at work. I thought I would ask people who live there for first hand info. I like to fish, preferably freshwater, I want to catch some Bass! I am thinking of skimboarding at Melbourne Beach. I wanted to hit up a driving range in the area. I found Mad Dog driving range, is it any good? said it also had a batting cage? I really want to go on a cool hike. I like anything with activity. I'm from Washington State so I am excited for the sunshine! Thanks!!! :) Oh... and I am a dude if that makes any difference. :)
Small less then an inch with yellow bellies and stripes what am i? (freshwater fish)? My friend was catching minnows for bait when she came across some other baby fish that she ended up putting back but I was wondering what they could be. They were a little over a half inch long with a round body, about four dotted stripes horizontally down their bodies. They had yellow bellies and a darker tint then guppies. I live on a small freshwater lake in central florida. They didn't have a distinguishable gender fin like guppies do which leads me to believe they're egg layers but then again they could just be young. They school with each other but once again that could just be because they're young. They were found in about 3-5 inches of water. I know there is bass in my lake though I don't know what kind and I want a specific type. they might also be perch but idk if its perch that we've been catching.. thanks hope this was detailed enough.
What color lure/worm should i use for bass fishing in central Florida lakes? Particularly the lakes in lake county Griffin, Eustis, and Dora.
