Bass fishing techniques for spring weather changes in Dallas (rain, cold, sun, wind)? Okay, this is for you expert anglers. I fish small local ponds in the Lewisville, Carrollton, Frisco area. The bass were really biting in March, but with all of the cold fronts that have moved through every few days in April, I've really had inconsistent luck. I've generally heard that fishing is better right before a front moves in and that seems to have been right. My issue is that after a big rain or when the air temp drops from the 70-80s to 50-60 for a few days. I am not sure what to do. Can someone help explain the patterns of bass when the air cools down suddenly, when storms/rain comes, when it's really windy (20-30 mph), when it's overcast vs cloudy, and how I should be fishing (lures, techniques, etc) in those conditions in north Texas?
what is the best bait and technique for bass fishing? I live near a very large lake and I wanted to go bass fishing this summer, but I don't know what the best lures or plastic bait are the best. I also don't know, when using plastic bait or lures, what the best technique is. Can anyone Help me?
Which Bass techniques for fishing plastics in the weeds? My issue is that I want to expand into Largemouth fishing with jigs, Texas-rigged worms with bullet weights as examples. So far, all I end up doing is getting hung up. Is is that I should apply these techniques to different water or ...? I am not pitching or flipping right now (as I dont really know how to do that) but I am open to any technique that will make it so that I dont get hug up as often. I am fishing on a lake that has alot of coontail weeds and I am usually in 5-15ft. There are some shallow areas with sparse clumps of coontail as well some thin grass where it gets really shallow along with some lily pads. Any help on where/how I should be focusing my efforts would be appreciated.
What bass fishing technique works best for you in small pond (no boat)? I've been fishing at this lake every other day for awhile. Matter fact alot of my friends fishs it two just as much. So far i've only seen/heard of maybe 5 keeper size bass being caught and a few small ones. Two big fish was snagged so that doesn't count. Thing is there are many people and different techniques being tried and it's rare a fish is caught. I dont see how the can turn down rapalas because is so easy to fish but I never get hits on them. I had a couple on worms and lizards but maybe I'm not presenting them right. I dont have a dept finder but walking on the docks and dropping my line down in many parts I've found that this pond is only 6" deep (so it seems) I think is best to try fish close to the top with spinners and rapalas most of the time but it's not working too good. The weather changes patterns alot too but I'm out in all of it. Trying differant techniques. These bass are smart or just not biting in anything. I can thow a bait on a bed, step back and still nothing.
What are the best techniques for bass fishing? I dont have a boat or anything along those lines. So i am stuck to fishing off the shore. From what ive read they like to stay down in the mossy areas of lakes. what lures/ bait should i use. what would be the easiest and the best bet? Also lately ive been getting caught on all the crap in the lake like sea weed and stuff and my line always breaks. How DO I AVOID THIS!!!!!! having to re make my line is very annoying. also i have not been fishing very long so any extra detail you would like to add in or any extra tips you would like to add in that dont really have to do with my question i will be completely okay with that. THANK YOU SO MUCH

What are the best bass fishing tips sites? I want to learn advanced techniques as well as being reminded of basics and need your help because I need to hear from good fisherman. I want to learn tips from established anglers such as Rick Clunn, KVD, Skeet Reece, but also Bill Dance and others like these. There is a television show called The Bass Pros. I want a site similar to that show in relation to the things it teaches, but can be in video or written format. Good sites from other sources are also welcome.

Smallmouth Bass Fishing Questions? Hi I live in Door County, Wisconsin. One of the top fish here is the smallmouth bass. Last year I fished for it a lot. I fish off of docks that are very rocky around it. There are a couple large rock formations which I can see bass swimming in. The other day no lure was working so I tried a wacky worm. This worked great and I caught 4 nice sized smallmouth. I am very interested in this fishing technique now. I am wonder what size hook I should use and what color wacky worm. Also if you know what size my rod should be that would be great. Thank you.

fishing for smallmouth bass along a dike in the mississippi? i'm going fishing for smallmouth bass along a dike in the mississippi, in southeastern minnesota. one technique that i've been using has been throwing the original floater from rapala out along the dike, the reeling in swiftly. this technique has worked rather effectively for me, but what are some others i could try?
What is the best pike fishing technique? I'm going Pike fishing in the dead stream between Houghton lake, MI and 127. It has murkey waters, with channels about 6-8 ft deep x 20 ft across, running through a flood plain thats almost always has about 2 ft of water in it. What is the best lure or live bait to use? What part of the channel should I fish in? Any tips or tricks? Ive only reeled one pike out of here before, and I took it with a pike minnow. I mostly just wind up with bass or dog fish on my line. I forgot to ask this, should I use a steel leader, Ive had a few pike chomp right through 15lb line.
how different is small mouth bass from large mouth bass fishing? well i am a large mouth bass fisherman and know alot about it basikly i think of myself as a semi pro but since i no longer live near the lakes i always fished and live near many local lakes with one public access and one spot to fish from shore (im a shore fisherman, i own no boats) the rest of the lake access are from houses along the entire lake so i asked a techer about spots to fish and he pointed me towards the river near our area for small mouth. most of my lures are for large mouths like 5-8 inch senkos 4 inch hard swimbaits and medium to large crankbaits like rapalas and medium sized ratl-traps bass spinnerbaits and buzzbaits and inline spinners, are these still good for small mouths? there are a few largemouths in the river but not enough that i can target them only. so are the lures i have still work? im basikly asking what diference can i expect with lures and technique of fishing shuld i expect besides the fish and the fight they give. ARTIE ur a pissed off guy who looks for people to yell at. im not an idiot i know all about how weather and water clearity and all those crap and how it effects fishing i learned it all from research and youtube in just a year and that was wen i hadnt fished for years and i was only 14 and wen i could finaly drive myself to go fish and targetting only largemouth i was very succcessful because of how much time i spent learning about LARGEMOUTH BASS but small mouth are different and i strayed away from them because were i fish the only way to get smallies was from boat to get to the deep areas of the lake and other than that here in MN not EVERYSINGLE lake has smallies you need to find lakes with a decent smallie population to actually target them. you just hate other fishermen that may show more skill than you. i know i was being somewhat cocky but who dosnt get cocky when it comes to fishing semi pro was to show i am not a beginner but not pro just that i kno wat im doing
Fishing suggestion - fishing for bass and bream in clear water? I am going to be fishing in a national park area in a river with clear water containing bass and bream. I have read that clear water makes fishing more difficult. Does anyone have any suggestions on the type of bait/lures to use? Any technique suggestions would be helpful too. Thank you
TN quarry fishing techniques? I do a lot of fishing at a deserted rock quarry in TN. The bass are huge and the same with the bluegill and I have no problem catching them. I have seen large to very large catfish swimming in the depths, and have tried but never caught one. Info about the quarry: Clear to very clear water, water since 1940, 40-50ft deep(estimate) in the middle but the there is gradual slopes to cliffs. fairly small as quarries go probably 4-5 acres, granite or limestone. Some vegetation but sterile in places. Any techniques that might yield more or bigger bluegill bass would help but I am more interested in cat fishing techniques
Fishing for Striped Bass? I live about three minuted from the Colorado River just outside of Laughlin Nevada. There is not much to do out here so I have decided to take up fishing. I have done my research and have purchased my license but still need help with more information, possibly from people with more then average fishing experience. I know from where I'm fishing there wont be as many fish as there would be further up since the fish coming down towards me are going through one of two different Dams. As of now for this area stripped bass are the fish in abundance. I'd rather fish a lake such as Lake Mohave but that is over two hours away and why go that far from home when there's a river right outside? So here are my questions. 1. What is the best bait for stripped bass? (Live and Dead) 2. What is the more appropriate sized hook for stripped bass? I don't see myself getting some monster being that I'm fishing in the river and not the ocean. 3. Any good techniques for fishing this kind of fish (especially being in a river enviroment)? How to hook the bait? ect. 4. How should I set my pole up? Weight? Bobber? ect. 5. Any other info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Now I live in Oregon and want to try for steelhead and was wondering what kind of artificial I can use that I already have. Jigs, small cranks, soft plastics? any ideas or techniques? Really don't want to go out and buy a bunch of new tackle. Rods and reels are no problem.

Largemouth Bass Techniques and Baits for Stained Lake? I have a house on Lake Panorama in Iowa that I stay at for two months every summer. I fish a lot for bluegill, channel cats and walleye. I have been recently turned on to bass fishing, and have heard stories of many bass fisherman on my small lake. I went out to Bass Pro Shops in Des Moines and got a bargain Baitcaster that I have already mastered. I have fished a total of 14 hours in the last three days and have only had two hits from bass, both of which missed. I have tried every time of day and a plethora of baits including plastic worms, jitterbugs, zara spooks and poppers and used techniques like walking the dog. My lake is murky and you can only see about 6-8 inches into the water. It is also very cleaned up leaving little structure and weed beds but there's a lot of rock. I am wondering which techniques and baits anyone would recommend that I could try because I haven't had any luck in the large amounts of time that I have spent fishing.

What is the best bait and techniques for catching bass? I'm going fishing with the family tomorrow on a day trip and was just wondering what types of bait I should use and what I should do to better my chances for getting a few bites. We'll be traveling in a few different blow up kayacks in a river like setting. Just a few tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Is anyone familiar with the bass fishing technique called "sweeping"? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3G8XGFTxFDE You hold a buzzbait a few inches below the rod tip and buzz the water in front of brush and over weeds. The guy in the youtube video is Sweeping from a kayak, I'm wondering if I can do it from my float tube? I bought a new Fish Cat 4-LCS float tube last weekend and haven't had the opportunity to try it out yet. I'm hoping to put it in the Castaic Lagoon tomorrow and I want to try "sweeping". There's a spot with a bunch of reeds near a place with docks that is off limits to the general public and I thought maybe if I could get close enough with one of my heavier rods, I could pick up a bass using the sweeping method there. My question is, can I use the sweeping technique from a float tube instead of a kayak? I know it looks like cheating, Charlie, but I'd like to try it anyway. Catching bass out of the Castaic Lagoon is tricky. And I like surface strikes. I'm taken btw ; ) The first area, Grand Master, near the outlet. I've picked up big crappie near those docks with my float tube, just never any bass. And I have an old 8' Bass Pro Shops Flippin' Stick that's pretty heavy and rated for 15-30lb line that I think would work great. My b/f is letting me use his Ambassadeur 5000C with 17lb or 20lb mono. I was not aware bass fishing was popular in the '30s.
