Laws for fishing off a boat in Florida? I searched and could not find what I want to know. I want to buy a small 12-16ft boat with a small motor and fish. What are the rules/laws? Do I need a special "drivers license" for boats? Do I need a fishing license? Do I need insurance on the boat? Can someone point me in the right direction? The correct website to find this info? Why are boat prices in places like Florida and California so much less than in Kansas / Oklahoma area? I have looked at a lot of fish/ski boats to buy and there is a huge difference in price for similar units. Example: I found a 2004 Triton Bass boat for $2000 in Miami, FL and a similar boat in Oklahoma City costs $14,000! That's a huge difference! florida fishing licence price and boating question? hey yall i am from ga and i am going to fl to fish. my question is how much is a fishing licence for a non resident. i have seen sites that say it is 30 dollars for 7 days then i have also seen sites that it is 16 dollars and some change for non residents. don't know what to think i just dont want to go down there thinking it is 16 dollars and then be supprised with a 30 dollar tab. anyone know. 2nd question. i am dragging my boat down there even though gas prices are sky high. the boat is registered in ga. i don't have to register it in fl too, do i. not quite sure about these two question. i was fine with the 30 dollar fishing licence, i though that was too high but if that is what they charge that is what they charge but i saw a site saying 16 dollars, i just want to know for sure dont want any suprises. thanks yall good fishin

Why have a never seen anyone surf fishing in Southeast Florida? I fish the inlests sometimes, and the piers, and from boats. I have never seen anyone fishing form the surf. The poblem with the inlets is the bottoms are usaully rocky and I lose a lot of tackle. Do you know why nobody seems to fish the surf? I am going to give it a try...maybe tonight. How is (saltwater) fishing in Florida right now? I'll have 4 days on the Atlantic coast, near Melbourne. We went around the same time last year, and had a lot of fun. Surf fishing, catching blues and whiting, I liked the best . We also have access to a boat for fishing in the Indian River, near Sebastian's Inlet. We caught a bigger variety of fish there, but nothing real big, and 4 out of 5 were little mutton snappers. Blues are so fun to fight, and they were non-stop. good trout and redfish fishing locations without a boat in southeastern florida? i live in port saint lucie florida and i fish the jetty in fort pierce or the many piers within a 25-35 mile distance from my house. I have been wanting to try out some inland saltwater fishing for some trout or redfish but every spot i have tried have ended up being a crappy spot.
