My goal is to reel in a Marlin. Where can I go for Florida Marlin fishing? Should I find a Florida fishing charter?

Is it legal to open carry a 7 inch diving knife while fishing at a beach in Florida? I can't seem to really find an up to date answer but from what I have read it seems to be legal to open carry a blade of any length. I'd carry a shorter one if I had one, but this is all I've got.

What exactly is the new law? Also, I know in Florida it used to be that if you have to pay to fish, such as fishing the Sunshine Skyway pier, that you don't need a fishing license. Is that still the case? I need a license on the skyway even though I have to pay to fish the skyway? is this law in effect yet?

I live in NJ and taking a trip to florida and im just wondering what the best baits are to catch any type of fish in florida. Also if you have specific baits for specific fish please let me know. Im SALTWATER FISHING!!!! thanks

i want to keep some largemouth bass in my tank. i need to know what kind of ph, temp., food, tank setup, and any other info. what kind of filter? i have a 55 gallon tank, i'm only going to keep the bass for a little while then i'll get new ones.

Hello, I have a largemouth bass about 4 inches that is in a 50 gallon tank. I am very sensitive to my bass eating live fish its sad to me and i would like to know if there is an exception. Is there? What about crickets? Or Nightcwawlers!

I need some easy to tie flys for largemouth bass. I already have a begginers bass fly tying kit but it doesnt have any reccomendations. What are some easily tied flies or ones that work very well with bass on a 22 acre pond. The lake is only 5 years old but most of the bass are 5-8 pounds. Also what are some good websites. Name a lake, state, and it's record LM bass please. Ok, maybe you will tell me the record bass for your state. Mine is New Mexico, Bill Evans lake 15lbs 13oz caught in 1995 by Steve Estrada, and I mean to break his record soon. Ok...let's include CA too. They have the best chance of any US state. I saw a fish that was picked up (dead, floater) at Lake Fork that was over 20lbs and that was over 10 years ago so maybe TX has a chance? Japan??????? Hmm now there's an idea !!!

Now i would like to go fishing mostly for smallmouth bass in the holloway reservoir in lapeer MI but i have never fished there before and if you have i would love to know what the best way to catch smallmouth bass is and if you catch other fish there then id like to hear what and how also but if you have never fished in the holloway reservoir but you have fished for smallmouth in very sandy brown water then id love to hear any tips thanks a lot!

I'm going to go to my grandmas house in a few days. She lives on the Black River in New York .She doesn't have a boat or anything so i plan on fishing from shore. Black river is known for there pike and bass. Its still cold out and i was wondering what bait or lures to use to catch bass or pike from shore. I want to start bass fishing this year, but I'm not sure what's the best time to start. When I started last year, my results wre varied form trip to trip. Some days were really good, others were like fishing in the dead of winter. I just want to start at the right time. A good time would also include a time where I won't be cold, I cannot stand even the slightest cold.

i fish off my dock in 3 to 5 ft of water and i only can catch bass durring the evening all i have luck with is a small rubber shad a 7 in texas rigged worm and sometimes a buzzbait i also have alot of weeds but there are many open spots where i can cast and return it without getting snaged what are some good lures for the bass around there

I fish bass from a boat and from the shore. I am fishing for smallmouth and largemouth. And if any of them are good for crappies you could throw them in too. You can make one list with 5 lures or three lists for each species. Thanks.

We fish with minnows off her dock for fun and have caught both. Is it too late now, for bass? (Central Florida). We need to stock up on hooks and swivels - which is the best size for catching either one? We also catch and release so is there a hook that's good for that but doesn't also make us lose them before we land them? Sorry for so many questions, thanks for answering any!

I live in central florida and fish in local ponds and small lakes and have been using a super Fluke watermelon seed color. They have simply stopped hitting it. The water is still around the upper 60s duriing the day and weather has been really nice and warm. We did just have a cold front come thru but they stopped biting about a week ago. i fish morning afternoon and evening and mid day. with no results. What should i switch to. We fish from her dock on a large, central florida lake, and a lot of the water around her dock that we can cast to is only 2-4 feet. So far, we're catching bass, bream and 1 catfish, with minnows, worms or shiners. We release everything and just want to catch as many as possible, for fun. How should we set up our lines, (we use sinker floats, but how far above the hook?) and what size hook is best for the widest variety of fish? Thanks for any advice.

when ever I turn sharp it wants to hydroslide sideways. It feels like it wants to flip over. What could be the problem? I added a fin to the engine to try an stop the problem but it made it worse.

I will be going to Florida in October and would like to visit the upper Keys. So far my search for places to stay has turned up a lot of sport fishing resorts...I don't like to fish. Anyone know of a quiet resort, hotel or town thats not more then a two hour drive from Miami Airport? I would like to just relax,sit on a beach and swim in the ocean.

I'm planning a trip for Boy Scouts involving going to Florida, either renting a boat or going with experienced people for a week and snorkeling, scuba diving, and fishing. I am looking for a sailboat preferibly that is big enough to sleep in, and has 10 spots. I'd like the price to be low. Any ideas where to find this? I've been searching a lot. Or any ideas on how to have a sea trip.

Id like to check on whats needed to charge fees for guided fishing trips in a small boat in Napels Florida. Do I need to any classes or get a license before I can charge for services on a small boat ( under 100 hp) as a fishing guide? Id love to do this part time.

I am going to be shore fishing at a small reservoir this weekend. I am looking to catch largemouth bass. I bought some lures from wal mart and have the basic stuff available. Can anyone help me set this up. I have nothing set up at all. I am pretty much a beginner so anything helps. Pictures and links would be good. I bought some wal mart ones that said storm. they are little rainbow trout lures.

I used to have a picture of it but due to a virus on my computer the picture is gone. The fish had a black stripe across its sides, was green in color as if it were a bass, but it was a pike! Ive dont reasearch on this and its not a grass pickeral. What could it be? This fish is not a fake at all. If i still had the picture i would show you. But the hybrid musky might be it then.

I'm kinda new to bass fishing and I'm having trouble identifying this fish. I believe its a spotted bass because of the mouth not extending back past the eyes and I've never really seen a largemouth with this coloration. Thanks for your help! Hey folks. A customer of ours donated this bass to our fishing lodge when he caught it in 1982. We paid top dollar for this life like mount and it is totally air tight and has been indoors for the whole time. Thats why its still in perfect condition. 12 pounds 8 ounces on nice drift wood, gravel bed, lillys, weeds, and soft plastic minnows fleeing from the bass. Since the bass can be viewed from all angles, even the back is painted and it has both eyes. I have the picture of the angler who caught the bass, the month day, year and which bait it was caught on. ok so im going to my moms, step sisters, property and they have 2 tanks (ponds). and i wanna go large mouth bass fishing. i want to use lures, not worms. no plastic bait LURES like crank bait spinner bait etc. so i dont know how big the bass are but i think they stalked them with 1 lb last year. and this is the dallas texas area so its warmer. i dont know the kind or size to fish with but i need to have equipment for all of mamorial weekend. i will not be doing ANY night fishing because there are ALOT of snakes around there. i would like to know the brand, type, size, price, where to buy, and a link of a picture if possible. i would like every thing to be at bass pro and cheep and i need equipment that is good for 1 lb. bass and higher because i have no idea how big the bass are. also i would like some info on perch/blue gill but i think i have that covered just some worms for them. i would like to use top waters, crank baits, any thing, thats a lure.

I've been fishing in this pond by my house for 2 years, and the fish in it are extremely stubborn and picky. The only thing i've really had luck with is hot dogs, but they've learned to stay away. So long story short, i need some homemade bass bait recipes that aren't expensive and have been tested by actual fisherman like me.

I was just curious if small/largemouth bass are good eats? I imagine anything is ediable but I have heard that bass is'nt that good to eat. The only fish I eat that I catch is walleye or perch. hi so i go to a small pond by my house for fishing and i used abait thats made out of bread and cheese all smooshed together with lots o garlic salt and real granulated garlic that imade at home so i use it the first time and i get a huge catfish that breaks my line [ i caught it with in the first ten mins of casting] so i cast another piece out and i got another catfish with in first ten mins so i real it in and its a 31 in, 17 pound catfish and i give a piece of the magic bait to aome one else and he gets one in the first ten mins that breaks his line [hes using 10 pound test fireline and im using 8 pound test mono ] then the next day i go to the lake at the same time with 2 lines out in the water and same bait and i catch nothing so then my mom bought some large cut garlic for a recipe and she has some garlic juices left over that almost makes me gag just sniffing them becuz its so strong so do u think if i soaked the same bait in that stuff it would work relly good?? ps. i switch to 14 pound fireline and also whadt do u think of the south bend colapseble eclipse rod it landed me a 31 in catfish and a 22 in largemouth bass and many more so it cant be total crap?
